Project Worthmore is hosting a Rally For Refugees to celebrate World Refugee Day this Saturday, June 18 at Great Lawn Park in Lowry! With a world in crisis, now is the time to extend a hand to our neighbors and our city at large. Will you join them? All they're asking to enter this fun-filled park is to “Give Whatever You Can”. They are trying to raise $30,000 to provide a caring and welcoming experience to newly arrived refugees.

What is the Festival?

Enjoy a tasting of diverse ethnic foods from the refugee community, walk through their unique refugee experience, enjoy some games in the park, face painting, and Little Man Ice Cream! They’ll have a few volleyball nets set up so come have fun in the sun – bring a picnic, lawn chairs, and an umbrella – bring a frisbee, games, and your friends. The more the merrier. They want to spend some time with you, meet new people, and rally our city for our refugee neighbors! Learn more at projectworthmore.org/dignitychallenge/festival.

The Festival is being held in conjunction with the Dignity Challenge, which is a fitness challenge to support our refugee neighbors. To register for the challenge, visit bit.ly/dcRegister, or to learn more, visit projectworthmore.org/DignityChallenge

About the Dignity Challenge

There will be something for everyone at this family friendly event. Start out the day with a morning yoga session to get your mind and body balanced and refreshed for the 5K and Fitness Experiences. The 5K will be a diverse run as you loop through Great Lawn Park, weave over a creek, around a lake, on dirt trails and paved sidewalks.

Soon after, four gyms will facilitate four (plus) fitness stations such as rowing machines, kettlebells, and full-bBody workouts.

If the 5K and Fitness Experience isn't for you, just participate in the 1-mile Family Fun Run, then find a shade spot, join us for lunch, and check out a highly competitive Rice Carry Relay made up of teams who are ready to endure the Signature Dignity Challenge.

Project Worthmore does all this in a heartfelt expression to recognize our refugee neighbors and raise funds to welcome families to our city, and they hope you will take on the challenge with us.

It is truly through the heart of our community that we are able to recognize and support our refugee neighbors.
