Best deals on ski weekends with kids
The ski industry is in something of a "no growth" period.
I can tell you why. Trying to plan a long ski weekend for the family - with two kids in ski school, equipment, lift tickets, lodging - it feels like it might be cheaper to just take the family to Disneyland.
So Colorado resorts are coming up with some good deals to get you to bring your kids up - and we're rounding up some of the best ski deals for 2013:
A-Basin: Kids ski FREE all month in December! No strings attached! Half-day lessons start at just $88, full day $108. Parents, grab a 4-pack lift ticket for just $129 before 12/20/13.
Loveland: Buy a kid's 3 pack lesson, and your kid will get a FREE season pass - starting at $315. Parents, grab a 4-pack lift ticket for $129 through 11/24
Ski Granby Ranch: Complete 2 kid's lessons, get a FREE season pass with their Get On The Snow deal for just $199
Copper Mountain Ski School 4 pack: Pre-purchase, reserve a spot any time, equipment not included - starts at $499. Parents, grab your 4-pack for just $159 before 11/18! Plus Copper has the brilliant Kids Night Out to give kids a break from their parents... best of all, it's FREE as long as mom and dad spent at least $30 per kid at the restaurants and shops in Copper. Whoever thought of this deserves an award.
Keystone Ski and Ride: One day lessons start at $163. And if you stay 2 nights at Keystone, kids ski free. No blackouts, no restrictions, that's the deal! See our review of Kidtopia from a couple of winters ago>
Breck Ski and Ride: One day lessons start at $173. For the younger kids, check out KinderHut
Winter Park Kid's Lessons: One day lessons start at $149
Vail: Buy the 6-pack of lessons starting at $340
Beaver Creek: This is just all about luxury. If you don't care about the price, just go. It will be the time of your life!
