Play: The Clash Indoor Soccer is having an Open House Sunday

Have you been hearing good things about Clash Indoor Soccer?

It's a Stapleton-owned business (Hugh Evans was one of the original Stapleton residents 10 years ago. He started the league in 2007 out of a desire to help African and Hispanic youth play the game they love, without the high fees of traditional soccer leagues) and their kids are GREAT players - PLAY being the key word.  Hugh believes in an environment where the kids play: less formal coaching, more playing; less structure, more creativity.

Now the league is thriving - and partnering with the Colorado Rush - and open to Stapleton teams!

We took some boys from the neighborhood to visit, and my boy, who has lollygagged around the field but never played with enthusiasm or passion, transformed into a soccer player when Hugh rounded up a few boys, gave them a ball and they started playing.

These boys were good. Really good. My boy got right in there - he ran (fast!), he kicked, he passed the ball, he was aggressive, he scored and cheered - he had a blast!

We parents watched, kind of amazed, and Hugh pointed out that kids just want to play - unrestricted, uncriticized (there were no parents yelling "Kick the ball!") and un-self conscious.  They were just having fun.

So Clash Indoor Soccer is having a FREE Open House on Sunday, May 20 and you should check it out! Details follow:
